ArtistoftheWeek:Sky Ferreira6/26/10-7/2/10

I have to say I'm a little on the fence about this artist. She's really young so that means she might produce a lot of bad songs. She's been around the block a bit and that's not really a great thing for an artist. Drinking, and doing MDMA (Ecstasy) and she's only 17 years old. Plus she already has a tattoo before at 17. Also, I only like one song of hers and it's One. But she's born in the same year as me so I give her some props for that.
I don't really know if I should give her a thumbs up yet but all I can say about her right now is,
At least she made an Ok Catchy song, one that grows on you.

You know, I have to say, I can't really diss her for making repetitive songs like One, because if I had the chance to be a musician I'd do the same thing too. I think that the reason why we do is because of the times. So used to tracks that catch our ears at the first listen. Not really used to listening to songs that grow on you. I blame the radio for that. Thanks Clear Channel.

ArtistoftheWeek:Postmarks6/19/10-6/25/10

I love the Postmarks, their sound reminds me of Rainy Spring and sunny summer days. I found out about this band from Pandora.com. Their debut album is perfect to listen to on a rainy day.The Postmarks, came in at a great time, they were sometimes recognized as the new Ivy. With they're style and the overall feeling their music gives.

Their second album, not including the covers album, is filled with songs for those sunny spring days. This album really shows how much they've evolved in their music.

ArtistoftheWeek:The NeverEndings6/11/10-6/18/10

I love Ivy since I heard them play on TV in the 90s. Since then I've followed them a lot, seeing all the side projects they've made. Recently, I've found out about another side project they're working on, The NeverEndings.
The NeverEndings is like a combination of Brookville (lyrics), and Ivy (sounds). I totally look forward for the release in 2011 but for now I'll stick to the songs that I have now.
The NeverEndings are perfect to listen to in the Summer, especially in July.
The NeverEndings are Dominique Durand & Andy Chase.

ArtistoftheWeek:Lisa Mitchell6/3/10-6/10/10

No one in America has heard of Lisa Mitchell, you don't hear about this artist on the Top 40 Radio or hear about her album be on the Billboard Top 200, but her album, Wonder, has sold over 100, 000 records and her songs are really famous in Australia. She's that artist only for Australia. It sucks because it'd be great to break from this "electro fad" mainstream music is in right now. [Moving on] I heard about this artist by stumbling onto a blog, and the cover looked cool so I checked it out, and I really loved it!
The first song I loved was, Neopolitan Dreams, a great song for the morning.
So Jealous, is great because of the vocal disdain in Mitchell's voice.
Coin Laundry, is so cute and poppy plus the intro is great.
Clean White Love, really laidback track, nice feeling.
Oh! Hark!, the song's so upbeat.
